Buyer - Manufacturing
Location: Greater Derby Area
Salary: Up to £32,500 + bonus

Working Hours: 37 hours per week | Hybrid working | Early finish on Friday

Are you an experienced Purchasing professional looking for a fresh challenge? W Talent are delighted to be working with a global manufacturing leader based in the heart of Derbyshire, seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join their team. This role offers the chance to drive supplier performance, optimise purchasing processes, and work within a dynamic engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality and performance standards are met
  • Negotiate pricing, resolve supplier OTIF issues, and manage invoice and pricing variances
  • Maintain and update purchasing data, including pricing, purchase orders, and master data
  • Work closely with Planning and Buying teams to manage engineering changes, support new product introductions, and ensure accurate purchasing records

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: A proven track record at Purchasing Assistant or above within a manufacturing setting (essential)
  • Skills: Strong negotiation and communication abilities, with the confidence to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Systems: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) with a keen eye for data analysis; SAP experience is a plus
  • Education: GCSE Maths (A-C) is required
