W Talent are delighted to be working with a large engineering business in Nottingham to find their Maintenance Purchasing & Inventory Controller.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in both stock control and purchasing to join a financially stable business at the forefront of engineering excellence and innovation.
With the potential to grow your own team in the future, you'll play a crucial role in managing stock and supplier management for the maintenance side of the company, ensuring smooth operations and avoiding delays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day stock management for the maintenance department
- Conduct Perpetual Inventory (PI) counts and ensure accurate stock records
- Work closely with the MRO parts supplier to maintain availability of specialist parts and consumables
- Prevent overstocking while ensuring critical parts are always available
- Handle stock allocation and placement - some heavy lifting is required in this role
- Raise purchase orders (POs) for maintenance team requests
- Follow up on delayed supplier orders and source alternative suppliers when needed
- Work with key stakeholders, including Administration, Maintenance, and Facilities teams
- Maintain ERP systems and generate reports in Excel
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices
The Ideal Candidate:
- Background in engineering or manufacturing is essential
- A strong mix of stock control and purchasing experience
- Highly organised with great attention to detail
- Confident working with suppliers and internal teams to keep operations running smoothly
- Competent with ERP Systems and Excel
- Ability to be based at the Nottingham site full time
