Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of Lean manufacturing practices to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency across the production unit.
  • Analyse current processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement and waste reduction.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to output.
  • Be hands-on when necessary, performing inspections and ensuring quality control at various stages of production.
  • Collaborate with production teams and other departments to optimize manufacturing processes and streamline operations.
  • Support the introduction of new technologies, machinery, and process improvements to increase productivity and performance.
  • Mentor and coach production staff on Lean methodologies and best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to ongoing problem-solving initiatives and help to maintain high standards of safety and quality.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably within an engineering or production environment.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S).
  • Ability to analyze production data, identify inefficiencies, and implement effective solutions.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to work on the shop floor as needed, conducting inspections and troubleshooting issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a logical and methodical approach to resolving technical challenges.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and drive change.
  • Experience in mentoring or training others in Lean methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
