Job Title: Planning & Purchasing Coordinator

Salary: Up to £35,000 + bonus

Location: Full Time, On Site, Nottingham

W Talent is delighted to be partnering with a highly successful manufacturing business in Nottingham who are part of a growing global group of businesses.

Having recently completed a similar role with this progressive company, we are delighted to be working with them on a Planning & Purchasing Coordinator vacancy.

This role requires a strong progress chaser - someone proactive in following up on orders, chasing suppliers, and driving solutions to ensure seamless purchasing and planning operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a progress chaser, ensuring orders are on track, delays are minimised, and suppliers are held accountable for delivery commitments
  • Resolve issues related to OTIF performance, working closely with suppliers to manage lead times and minimum order quantities (MOQs), optimising inventory levels
  • Generate and process purchase orders for various industrial components and office services
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to align order status with inventory needs
  • Proactively monitor open orders, chase down solutions to supplier delays, discrepancies, or shortages, and ensure production schedules are met
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance purchasing and planning efficiencies
  • Support production planning to ensure seamless alignment between purchasing and manufacturing schedules
  • Perform general administrative tasks to support the team and maintain efficient operations

Key Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Buying or Purchasing Coordinator role with proven supplier management experience
  • Experience in supply chain coordination, with involvement in production planning, is highly desirable
  • Experience of purchasing from Far East suppliers is highly desirable
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems and Excel is essential
  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • A determined and persistent approach, with the confidence to chase suppliers, deal with escalated issues, and drive resolutions
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
