Position Overview:
The role of Production Planner involves working in a fast-paced, ingredients-based environment for a complex product catalogue. An FMCG background (or similar) is therefore highly advantageous for someone taking on this exciting role.
The Production Planner will be responsible for planning and managing the master schedule to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with exemplary Planning skills. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to ensure that production goals are met on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain detailed master schedules to meet demand forecasts and customer orders
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times throughout the manufacturing process
• Monitor production processes and workflows to ensure efficiency and adherence to schedules
• Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to ensure the availability of raw materials and finished goods
• Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements
• Manage inventory levels to minimise waste and reduce production costs
• Generate regular reports on production performance, including key metrics and areas for improvement
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to resolve any production issues
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall production efficiency
Key Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Production Planner / Master Scheduler in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of production planning principles and practices
• Knowledge and appreciation of health & safety regulations
• Proficiency in production planning software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience / certification
