We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Protection and Controls (P&C) Engineer to join our clients team in the substation sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering with extensive experience in substation protection and control systems. This is an excellent opportunity to lead complex projects and mentor junior engineers within a dynamic and innovative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Analysis: Lead the detailed engineering design and analysis of substation protection and control systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
- Project Management: Manage P&C projects from inception to completion, ensuring all milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and review technical reports, design specifications, and construction documents related to substation P&C systems.
- Testing and Commissioning: Oversee the testing and commissioning of protection and control equipment in substations, ensuring optimal performance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers, to ensure project success.
- Client Interaction: Interface with clients to understand their needs, provide technical guidance, and ensure satisfaction with project outcomes.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve complex technical issues and challenges that arise during project execution.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quality control reviews of project deliverables to ensure the highest standards of engineering are maintained.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering professional development and growth.
- Innovation: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve engineering solutions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 8-15 years of relevant experience in substation protection and controls design and engineering.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard software such as SEL-501, SEL-587, and other protection relays. Experience with AutoCAD and GIS tools is a plus.
- Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in managing and leading a team of engineers and technical staff.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
